Master Bedroom Idea

I am trying to figure out a way to really make my master
bedroom stand out and possibly do something to move
the eye up to the ceiling...

Do you all think that the ceilings would look good
with something similiar to the picture below?
I have a had a few people say that this will bring the eye upward and
make the ceilings and the room itsself look larger.

What do you all think I should do with the ceiling? I could also paint
the middle of the ceiling to draw the eye even farther up, but
it will be a few months before I change the light fixtures and ceiling fans.

Just A Quick Question...

Has anyone grabbed my button and added to their blog? If so, let me know so I can add YOUR button to my blog. I'm all about sharing the love. Thanks. :)

Ps - Moving day is TOMMORROW. Can you believe it?? I'm sure you all are like, "okay Ashley, it's getting old already!" ha!

Sister Wives

So, there is another show on TLC called "Sister Wives." It is about a polygamist that lives with 4 other wives. I saw the commercials and it just had my curiousity running so I decided to watch. The show gives you a really deep intimate look into their lives and how it actually works out in their culture. Although my religion does not agree with having more than one wife, I can see where these women have a sense of security, love, bonding, sisterhood, and companionship by all living together.

I think the main thing is that they take the quote "it takes a village to raise a child..." very literally. They all help with chores and with caring for the children and they also have time to themselves also. They even have their own apartments. Below is a video giving you a sneek peak of what the show is all about - then you can make your own assumption about the show.

A Very Random Sunday

I have been looking at all of the posts over at Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life.
I am very jealous that some people seem to have their houses complete.
Mine is just getting started!

This is the fountain that I love so dearly.
You can turn the light off and just listen to the water running.
I haven't decided where to put it in the new house (suggestions?)
It is currently in my master bedroom, but nobody sees it but me.
This, as most readers know, is my amazing prince charming.
He has been my biggest fan from day one and I can't wait to suprise him
with the man cave he has already dreamed of. (Post later)
This is me. (on a good day, a really good day I must add!)
I do not look like this 99% of the time.
Most of the time, I'm still in my PJs and no makeup when hubby gets home.
Desperate Housewife I guess :)
This is my grandmother, Sarah Wilson.
She really needs prayers right now in a big way.
She has multiple Myeloma and is having extreme head pain.
She gave us a scare yesterday and we thought it was the end.
Cherish everyday with those you love!
While I was choosing pictures to post today, I came across this.
My boys look so little in this picture and they are not so little anymore.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them...
but I miss them being little.
This is a big week for the family as we are setting out on the big move I have been posting about. I am going to hire a painter so I do not have to worry about it and just move right in and get down to decorating business. I cannot wait to post the progress! Are you a follower or a reader of this blog? If so, please let me know by either becoming a follower or leaving a comment.
Hope everyone has a great, random, peaceful sunday just like me :)

It's off to the new house we go!

Another Sneak Peek....

This is the kitchen. It needs alot of work, but I have some wonderful ideas.
This is the master. I see so much potential.

This is the sunroom that is off of the living room. I love it!

Another picture of the front of the house. There is really no way to take a picture of the whole house because it is surrounded by trees. This house is so secure and private. I can already tell I will feel so much safer. We plan to get a security alarm, an alarm at the end of the driveway, and then eventually a gated entrance with a fence. I could not be happier with the choice we made.
We have exactly nine days until we get our keys. God is so good! :)

I promised I would post a few more pictures of the new house before we got moved in to hold you all over until I can get in there and put my touches on it so here they are :) Enjoy! Feel free to leave ideas in my comments sections. I have been noticing that people are reading, but not commenting! Please let me know you have stopped by so I can read your blog too!!

Thankful

While browsing through the blogs of the people I have on the left side of my page, I ran across a blog post by Lindsay Isham titled "Thankful". You can check out her blog by clicking on JR and Lindsay Isham on the left sidebar of my page titled "Family and Friends".

It got me to thinking of all the things I am thankful for too ... so I decided to follow her idea and share with my readers the things I am thankful for in my life.

Thankful that through everything in my life, I found Jesus Christ.
Thankful that prayer gives me a sense of peace.
Thankful for the new, big, beautiful home my family will be moving into in about a week.
Thankful for the opportunity to stay home with my boys.
Thankful for days when I am able to eat lunch at work with my husband.
Thankful for a husband that works so hard to provide for our family.
Thankful to be surrounded by friends and family who want to lift me up and watch me succeed.
Thankful that I shared memories with my nana before she passed away.
Thankful that my marriage has survived ups and downs for over 7 years.
Thankful for my new car and that it is paid for and we will not have two car payments anymore.
Thankful that my husband is my biggest fan and always stands behind me and supports me.
Thankful that my children think I am the best mom ever.
Thankful that I have healed from my past and have also used it to witness or help others.
Thankful for Facebook and Blogger because I get to keep up with family and friends near and far.
Thankful for a wonderful father and grandparents who have instilled old fashioned values in me.
Thankful for the troops and their families who are fighting to keep my family safe.
Thankful that God chose me to be Blaze and Ace's mommy and has given me a sense of peace about having more children in the future.
Thankful for the peace and contentment I am starting to feel in my heart after years of restlessness, drama, hurt, resentment, and anger.

Thankful that God chose his son to die so that I may have everlasting life... and that he gave me a promise that I hold onto each day.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. - 1 Peter 1:3

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. – Matthew 11:28-30

What are YOU thankful for?? Please feel free to share!!! :)

Packing Progress

I love to see progress when I am working on a project. It shows me how far I have come from where I started. Today, I looked into the spare room that we are storing boxes in and I love to finally start seeing the bigger picture of it all. I have not taken down the curtains and stuff, but that will come tommorrow and then the house will really look bare. This house already does not feel like HOME.... it is filled with memories, but the things we have collected as a family over time are now in boxes. Below is a picture I took today of the spare room and all that I have packed so far. (I must throw this in that I am doing the majority of the packing all by myself.)

My husband's job just does not allow for alot of time to help so I am trying to do everything I can on my own. I love to see the smile on DJ's face when he walks in and sees everything I have done. I spent many years of my marriage depending on my husband to help me with everything and when he did not or was unable, I felt resentful. It is a blessing that I have changed my mentality that I need my husband to do everything with me for me to do it succesfully.

So, this post may not mean much to most, but it means alot to me... I wish I had more to post, but packing and moving has pretty much consumed my mind these days!

(but in other news, my wonderful husband bought me a new car this week. I will post a picture if I ever get my camera back!)

Meet The Masches!

No, I do not mean literally we are going to meet them, but I want to introduce my new favorite tv family to my readers! For those of you who don't know the people above, they are the 8 people in the show called "Raising Sextuplets." Recently the husband, Bryan, has been in the media for being arrested for domestic abuse. It really broke my heart because I love the show and I also love, love, love the mom and wife in the center of it all - Jenny.

Jenny reminds me alot of myself. She put herself through nursing school and eventually practioner school all while balancing being wife and mom. Of course, I didn't do college with 6 kids and a husband, but I did have ALOT of weight on my shoulders at that time. She is also very much OCD and a bit of a control freak which I can also relate to. :)

If you do not know anything about the show or the family, here is a little bit about what the show captures - (courtesy of http://www.wikipedia.com/ )

Jenny and Bryan met via email communication while Bryan was stationed in Kuwait with the Air Force. They were married a year later on January 2, 2004. Jenny is a physician assistant and Bryan is now a pharmaceutical salesman. They also own a real estate investment company. The sextuplets were the result of artificial insemination after Jenny suffered two miscarriages.

The babies were delivered at thirty weeks, four days at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.[2] The Masche babies were the second set of sextuplets to be born at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. The three boys and three girls weighed between 2 lbs., 1 oz. and 3 lbs. and were delivered by cesarean section within about six minutes beginning at 8:21 a.m.

After delivery, Jenny suffered heart failure, and was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit, where she nearly died due to complications from the extreme pregnancy. Jenny recovered enough after five days to be able to visit her sextuplets in the NICU. The babies spent about five weeks in the hospital after birth. Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, offered each of the children a full scholarship to attend the school as part of the freshman class of 2025.[3]

Prior to Raising Sextuplets, the Masches have appeared on television a few times: Bryan asked Jenny to marry him on national television at an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game in 2003, the couple appeared on the Today show during the pregnancy[4] and afterward[5][6][7], and Jenny competed on Deal or No Deal.[8]

The family used to reside in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.[9] They now reside in Destin, Florida.

On September 11, 2010, Bryan Masche was arrested at his father-in-law's home in Camp Verde, Arizona for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and threatening per domestic violence.

The show pretty much shows you the ups and the downs of their marriage and family even taking you into some of their marriage counseling sessions. It is refreshing to see a real family with real problems, but also see a mom who does survive it all and still lets loose. She found time to even train and run a marathon! Talk about inspiring!!

I could go on and on about this family, but I think you all should just check it out for yourself. The next show that I could find via www.tvguide.com airs next Friday at 8pm/7ct.

The Good News :)

This picture is my new house! Yes, that's right. We finally found "the one." Before, it was what we could afford or what we could finance or what was safe or what we kind of liked, but we stepped foot in this and it was like we were both at peace. The price was a little on the top of our price range, but my husband said he felt comfortable with it and I trust him completely. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 1.5 bath split floor plan with a formal dining room, master bathroom with whirlpool tub, beautiful kitchen, huge sunroom, pool, and a guest house. Yes, a guest house. It needs some work, but I think with a little effort, we can make our money back plus some if we ever have to relocate for DJ's job. You have no idea how good it feels to say that we are moving on October 1st. We really needed some good news for a change. I promise to post more pictures during the home tours over at Kelly's Korner. She does something called "Show us your home" on Fridays and each week she posts a new room so I am hoping I will be able to do before and afters, at least on a few of the rooms.

Please pray that everything goes smoothly during the move and that our kids feel comfortable no matter where life takes us. Please feel free to leave your own prayers requests in my comments and I promise to add you to my prayer list. Prayer does change things and God IS good.

Just A "Venting" Type Day

Today has been a little odd. My husband is off work so that is a POSITIVE, but I was really faced with a challenge this morning that alot of people deal with everyday in their own lives.

Gossip.

Ah, yes, it happens to the best of us too :) Kidding.

Anyways, there is a website that some of the locals use and I am not even going to post it here because, trust me, it is NOT worth your time or the two seconds it takes to read the mess. Anyways, someone wrote something about me and then posted my first and last name. It was lies and slander and it really ruined my day. I tried to explain to my husband, but he doesn't understand. He just says he doesn't care what other people say, but for women, I feel like it's different. Anyone have any advice on how to deal with it and just forget it? After all, I can't get it removed (I have tried) and this person is blasting not only me, but also my family. I have decided not to read the site, but I still have friends that read it that feel the need to tell me what is being written.

If you read this, I would really appreciate some prayers tonight that a good thing comes from all this and also that eventually the whole site is shut down. Thanks for listening. There is a GOOD NEWS post coming soon! :)

The Saturday Blog :)

This is the blog I have chosen for the saturday blog this week. I chose it for so many reasons. The main reason can be found by reading their story here:

http://our-journey-to-parenthood.blogspot.com/2010/04/our-dream-come-true.html

Hope you are blessed :)

Babiessssssss!!!!!

Okay, I realize that I talk about babies.... ALOT! But let me tell you, this month has rocked my world. Here are the statistics -

  • This week I have had 10 friends tell me that they are now expecting!
  • I currently have 20 friends who are pregnant.
  • 12 of them currently know the sex of the baby - and they are all boys.
  • I had 2 friends bring their babies home from the Nicu today. (Praise God!)
  • My favorite blogger, Kelly Stamps, over at Kelly's Korner just announced she is expecting!
  • 5 of my friends will be finding out the sex of their babies next week!
  • One of my special friends, Kylee Johnson, just found out that she is expecting after three years of trying!

It's in the water -- and let me tell you, I am drinking water like crazy! :)
